I dont feel like learning how to script, and they lack many of the non script things 2k3 had.ĭid you try AGM, by the way? I heard it was pretty good, but since I couldnt speak japanese or find a working patch, I couldnt get it to work. When I got it, my antivirus said it had one. On regards the thanks for the links, no problem.ĮDIT: Anyways, I updated the thread and added videos of the OpenBOR engine and a link to the main forum where you should go to download the stuff necessary for it.Įdited by Antifarea - 15 August 2009 at 9:50am Btw what virus? I scanned them with AVG and it didn't show any infections. I use a lot of enterbrain products, and I own XP and VX btw. so I can take it down this thread, but it's still going to be in that forum section where you'll have to browse through it.Īnd I have been messing with rpgmaker since 2001 till now. I can take that link down though, but it will be pointless since I will still probably require you to check that same downloads site for other utilities and easy download. I mean, the original version of the 2k3 isn't even on sale in japan anymore by their creators enterbrain. I used the term of abandonware basically cause the 1.08 version has already been replaced even by the value one that was sold in japan for cheap.
Like copy pasting the same line of code all over again, but changing one variable each time, etc) (Not time to learn, time to actually keep doing everything. Even though it takes lots of time to code it, as rpg maker wasnt made to do that. You can make some nice stuff without knowing how to use it, and with some practice, you can make pretty much anything with it, like custom menus and zelda like battle systems. I have been using RPG Maker for about 8 years now (2k, and a few years later, 2k3), and its really easy to use and newb friendly. It had one when I downloaded it, at least :/Īnyway, nice links. I am also pretty sure the one in Crankeye has a virus. It was never released in English, and the english version that everyone has and you can find in pretty much any site is an illegal translation of the japanese one. RPG Maker 2003 is not abandonware, I think.

also over there you have to find the manuals which is not hard.
The link I gave you'll have to register to be able to download the blank MOD and to get other utilities. *note* OpenBOR is completely different than any of the makers shared here, you have to download a blank MOD (game) and build your game from there, also you'll have to deffinitely study the manuals before you can have any idea on how to create a MOD with it. *Note* Tutorials and other important information found in the same link, browse around the site.

See in this list that you think might be worth for others taking a With stuff like "hey you forgot to include this and that", etc. Suggest, do so in a comment or something. If you have any programs you would like to if you want to try other programs out there aside from these ones, try google. I know there are about 4 trillion programs out there to develop games, I will not include them all, only some of them (mostly the ones I've used actually). Links for some communities will be listed below.įor further help, you will have to drop by some of those Rpgmaker / Mugen / OpenBoR / Game maker communities, since they usually have a lot of documentation on the programs, tutorials and such. For everything else you'll have to visit communities that specialize in those programs.
The sites I selected contain the files necessary that you need in order to install the programs. This thread is based on Pre-made Engines and Game Creation Programs.Īll hotlinks in this thread lead to pages where the files are stored, etc.
